If you look at our portfolio, you'll see right away that there is no signature BOORA style. Many clients see this as one of our strengths. In a competition for a recent project, the owner told us "We know what we'll get from the other two firms, but we have no idea what we'll get from BOORA." We won the commission.
Part of our process in making a building is to start with a blank slate. Our inspirations come from the things we hear in workshops, conversations with clients, and what we learn about the climate, topography, landscape, and cultural heritage of the place.
We'd rather create a timeless building than a fashionable or a trendy one. Certain qualities have made buildings great throughout history: clarity, efficiency, integration of structure and building systems, durable and sustainable materials, and a marriage of art with the craft of construction. These are the things we start with. And we're comfortable not having a predictable outcome. |
