On Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 the voters of the Vernonia School District approved a $13 million bond measure to help pay for a new $37 million K-12 school campus. As The Oregonian reported: "The disaster-weary residents of Vernonia did something that not many Oregonians are willing to do in hard economic times. Boora is now moving ahead with design and documentation for the 150,000-square-foot project. Designed with integrated, high efficiency systems, the school will aim for LEED Platinum certification.
